The 5th Wind Energy Systems Engineering Workshop (WESE 2019) will be held jointly with the Final Event of CL-Windcon project, where attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the final presentations from this 3-year effort.

October 2 – 4, Pamplona, Spain.

The Wind Energy Systems Engineering Workshop is a biennial event that invites speakers from academia, industry, and international research laboratories to discuss topics relevant to systems engineering and the wind industry. Clustering with CL-Windcon project comes naturally since wind farm control plays a relevant role in the systems engineering paradigm applied to wind energy.

The previous edition of WESE in September 2017, with over 120 participants, demonstrated the significant growth in interest from the research and industry communities surrounding systems engineering for wind energy and integrated approaches to wind turbine and plant design.

At this fifth workshop, CENER (National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain) is partnering with NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) and DTU Wind Energy (Technical University of Denmark) to co-host the event. The theme of the workshop will be on “understanding system interactions and the innovative ways that different wind energy stakeholders integrate them into their research and designs”.
