Development of Turkish National HEPP Project and Modernizing the Existings (MILHES)

Project objective

TUBITAK MRC Energy Institute has the following research capabilities for turbomachinery aerodynamics : Steady-state and transient CFD analysis of existing hydro turbines. Design and optimization of new turbine runner and guidevanes. Feasibility calculations for refurbishment and calculation of optimum operating condition. Efficiency measurements of hydraulic turbines : using ultrasonic flow measurement probes, pressure transducers and power analysers according to IEC 60041standarts. Hardwares and softwares :

  • Faro Scan Arm for laser scanning of turbine parts
  • Polyworks software for laser scanning
  • 32 Core rack type server for CFD analysis
  • ANSYS Licences (x32 parallel) for FLUENT, CFX, Structural and Bladegen
  • OPAL RT RTDS for HIL Tests
