Most wind turbines components such as the tower, gearbox and generator can be recycled giving turbines a recyclability rate of 85% to 90%.  However, for wind turbine blades recycling is still a challenge due to the complex nature of the materials used, the lack of circular business models and the low recovery rate of existing solutions.

On 19 September ETIPWind organises a free webinar to explore the benefits of existing solutions for blade recycling and identify future R&I actions. Composite material experts will also provide an outlook on material development, including more sustainable alternatives for composites. More info here.
